Congratulations to all of the teams that made it to Nationals!! Now is the time to prepare yourself physically, mentally, and psychologically for Nationals. We will continue to train twice a week and it is imperative that you be there! In order for the Xplosive Edge to have you completely maximized and prepared for nationals, we are going to amp up the training in preparation mode. If you are consistently coming to your training times, be prepared to physically and mentally dominate the national tournament! I am very proud of all of the premier athletes that have invested in the Xplosive Edge and worked hard in the weight room. Keep up the good work!

Congrats Katy, Kala and Nikki!!
The Bruins signed three recruits for the 2007 season from the Premier Volleyball Club. All three players will make a significant impact on the team in their quest to the national championships. Siedlik said, "All I can say about this group is that they are competitive and they love the game. My goal here is to compete year after year at the national level. Last season's success put us even closer to that goal. This made it more enticing to these recruits to be a part of it."

Katy Gregory, SR, Omaha , Mercy HS: Katy is an outside hitter and plays for Premier Volleyball Club. Her parents are Dave and Renee. "I have known Katy for years. Katy is a very smart player that has court sense of an experienced senior player. She jumps very well for her height and ball control that will help us in big matches. When she goes, the team gets rolling." She was All Area Second team and All State Honorable Mention. |

Kala Holmes, SR, Nebraska City Lourdes HS: She is an outside for Premier Volleyball Club. Her parents are Loren and Beth. "Kala has been on my radar for a couple years. She is athletic and a hard worker. She is only going to get better and better in her college career." She was chosen All State Honorable Mention. |

Nicole Seipold, SR, Westside HS: She is an outside hitter for Premier Volleyball Club. Her parents are Rick and Kelly. "Nicole is just an added pack to the punch. She adds depth to our team in defense and on the outside. Not only will she make it competitive every day, but she will make us better as a whole." . |

The Xplosive edge will be post testing all of the athletes that participate in the Xplosive Edge next week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. These dates are June 25, June 27, and June 28th. Monday and Thursday will be at 8:00pm and Wednesday will be at 7:00pm. All of the post testing will be done at the Omaha Sports Complex. Athletes that optioned into the Xplosive Edge summer camp do not need to post test at this time! All other premier athletes that participate in the Xplosive Edge are encouraged to be at the testing in order to post test and see your performance results. This will only take about 45 minutes and the athletes only need to show up once at any session that you may choose. If you have any questions feel free to call Gibb Duval at 933-7622.

The Xplosive Edge presents………….Summer Camp 2007!!!!!
The Xplosive Edge Summer Camp is devised to maximize athletic performance; this camp is an intense 8-week camp for all athletes ages 14 and up. Each athlete will be pre and post tested to see the gains that they made. A program derived from Husker Power’s Performance Principles, the Xplosive Edge will make each athlete more powerful, more agile, stronger, and faster. Whether it’s a star striving for a college scholarship, an athlete looking to make the high school team, or anyone trying to get better, we WILL increase the athletic performance of each attendee. The Xplosive Edge camp consists of strength and explosive lifts, speed and agility drills, and a complete sports nutrition profile with the athletes attending camp 4 days a week.
If you are a Premier athlete that already participates in the Xplosive Edge program, we will pro-rate the price of this camp to $335.00 (regularly $395.00). This camp will be the most intense camp ever, but the results that you will see in just 8 weeks will blow your mind. The average increase in the vertical jump in 8 weeks is 4.1 inches with the average 10 and 40 yard dash decreasing by up to half a second! Not only will we be doing strength and conditioning, but also biomechanical evaluations, injury prevention, speed, acceleration and deceleration, jump training and dry ground landing preparation, as well as nutrition and supplementation.
If you are a Premier athlete that already participates in the Xplosive Edge program but do not want to hop into the Summer Camp 2007, we will be training up through the end of June still at twice a week. Times may be subject to change, please continue checking the website frequently for the Xplosive Edge schedule.

Please note the following policy. The Courts is a privately owned and operated facility and as such we should respect the fact that if we have not reserved a particular court for a specified time, we should not have activity on those courts. Players coming in early for practice or staying late for extra reps is one example of this type of activity.
Please do not abuse the privilege of this facility and the availability of adjacent courts. We practice on the courts and times we have reserved only.
If you wish to have additional time please contact Premier Volleyball or The Courts management to arrange for a court rental.

We will be starting to install the sport court flooring in the Xplosive Edge area at The Courts tonight (Thurs, March 29th) from 6:00 to 9:00.
If you would like to help with this (some of you are experienced) please email Rick at work and
let him know you can help. He plans to start at 6:00. We should be done by 9:00 or so.
Also, Ron Hoffman will be needing some help setting up Friday night for the regional tournament this weekend and you can get the same credit from Premier for helping with that. Just let us know if you are available and what times.

Beth Peal has announced her signing with Dana College after 7 years with Premier Volleyball! Beth is the first Premier player to have played for our club from her first year in club with the 12's to this year with the 18 Gold team. (These clinics are scheduled around your practice times)
All coaches are required to attend a rules clinic every year. If you attended a rules clinic in conjunction with an Impact Clinic then you don't have to be at this one but it would be helpful if you were there to assist with the test for your players.
It is helpful for the younger age groups if we also have a few parents that understand scorekeeping and can assist at tournaments when needed.

We will be having a first "Special Sessions" this Friday and Saturday (Dec 8th & 9th). Friday's session (10s -14s) will focus on Serving and Passing. Saturday's session (15s-18s) will focus on Setter Training. Trish Kucirek Siedlik, Bellevue University's Head Volleyball Coach, will be running these sessions. These sessions are designed for players who have chosen a position or want to increase their level of experience and expertise. The sessions are for athletes who want to take their ability of play to the next level. Special Sessions are optional for Premier players and no fee is needed.

Premier Volleyball has a new home during the 2006-07 Season!
We have been involved with the initial vision and have served as one of the consultants for Ron Hoffman, the manager of the new Omaha volleyball facility that will be known as “The Courts”.
The Courts are located at 8930 So. 137th Circle. Click here for map/directions. It is a 24,000 square foot training facility housing six volleyball courts, office and storage area, restrooms and concessions. There will be space for 4 competition courts in the same space for tournament events, also. This facility is only for Volleyball!!

Premier Volleyball is a “Founding Member” of The Courts. Being a “Founding Member” has a few inherent advantages, such as early choice of times and days, “tournament host” possibilities each month during the season and the opportunity for us to schedule additional practices or special sessions during the week. |

The Courts will offer year-round opportunities for volleyball training. We will be active in using the space during the off-season as well, just as we did in the past, to help our athletes continue to develop their skills.
A special thanks to everyone that has helped out over the past 2 months to get this facility up and running. We really appreciate all your hard work and dedication!

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 20, 2006) – USA Volleyball is proud to announce Minneapolis as the site for the 2007 USA Junior Olympic Girls’ Volleyball Championship. The event will be held June 29-July 8 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
“USA Volleyball is excited to have one of our premier events for 2007 located in the city of Minneapolis,” said Mike Chandler, USA Volleyball director of events. “Minneapolis has been an excellent host of USA Volleyball events in the past. Participants and parents should have a tremendous experience not only with the event itself, but also with the many things to do in the Twins City area.”
According to Chandler, USA Volleyball normally announces the host site for the USA Junior Olympic Girls’ Volleyball Championship much earlier in the year. However, complications existed this year after the initial city targeted to host the event dropped out before the final contracts were signed.
“The Minneapolis Convention Center and Meet Minneapolis, the local convention and visitor’s bureau, has stepped up to the plate to make this work at such a late date,” Chandler said. “To put on such a huge event takes a lot of coordination through the CVB to insure availability of the convention center and hotel rooms during the specified time period.”
This year’s USA Junior Olympic Girls’ Volleyball Championship has been extended from eight to 10 days to help balance the start and finish of the event. Another advantage to the staggered start and finish to the tournament will be each age group having its own championship day and championship court to itself. A quick look at the tournament format and schedule can be found at The tournament has also expanded from 756 to 788 teams as requested by the Youth and Junior Olympic Division. The 13 American Division has doubled from 24 to 48 teams. The 12 age group has gone up from 64 to 72 teams by splitting into a 48-team National Division and a 24-team American Division.
The USA Junior Olympic Girls’ Volleyball Championship attracts nearly 8,500 athletes annually to the event hosted by USA Volleyball. Last year’s Open held in Atlanta attracted 756 teams from across the country. Further, the event draws not only thousands of family and friends, but hundreds of college recruiters looking for the next top players for their programs.
Minneapolis has served as host for four other major USA Volleyball events in the past four years. The city was the site for the 2006 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Boys’ Volleyball Championship, as well as the 2006 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Girls’ Invitational Championship. Minneapolis also was the site for two World League men’s matches between Team USA and Japan. USA Volleyball also conducted its Adult Open at Minneapolis in 2003.
USA Volleyball has permission from the United States Olympic Committee to incorporate the word “Olympic” into the title for the USA Junior Olympic Girls’ Volleyball Championship through 2008, so long as the event does not have a title sponsor included. Individual clubs and regions are prohibited from using the term “Olympic” for any other purpose, including the name within their own

Gabrielle Anne Lund
We had our baby girl!! Gabrielle "Gabby" Anne Lund was born Thursday, September 21st, 2006. She arrived at 6:01pm and weighed 9lbs, 1/2 oz and measured 21 1/4 inches. (And has lots of hair!!)
Gabby is adjusting great to her new home and is getting lots of attention. She loves all of her clothes and can't wait to get dressed everyday...okay maybe mommy can't wait to dress her everyday. But in any case, she is quite the little "diva".
Also, guess what this means!!! Marian is a "Grandma" AGAIN!!!

We have secured a coach for the Premier 13 Red team so we will be having a tryout on Sunday, November 19th at The Courts (Located at 8930 So. 137th Circle Omaha, NE), starting at 10:00 am and running to approximately 12:00.
We will select one more team of 9 to 10 players. The remaining players will still be provided the opportunity to train during the season under Ron Hoffman, as he has discussed with some of you previously. We look forward to giving another team this opportunity.
Julie Moore will be the Head Coach for this team. She comes to Premier highly recommended and we're excited to have her on our staff.
Registration will start at 9:45 AM, Sunday. There will be a $15/ player tryout fee. A parent or guardian must be present to sign a commitment form for all players selected to participate. Hope to see you there!

As we set up our tryouts for the 2005/2006 season and made coaching assignments a comment was made from my staff that we could have two pretty good 18’s teams this year. As it turned out, we did develop two very solid 18’s squads with 9 seniors and one junior on the Gold team and 6 seniors and 3 juniors on the Black team.
As of July 10, 2006 all 15 of our seniors had received and accepted offers to play at the collegiate level. 2006 marks the second time in Premier Volleyball history we have had 15 recruited athletes in one year! We are very pleased with the performance of both teams this year and wish all of the seniors the best as they start college.
Congratulations to Bellevue University, College of Saint Mary, Concordia University, Dana College, Doane College, Iowa Western Community College, Midland Lutheran College, Northwest Missouri State, University of Nebraska - Kearney and Washburn University for securing such a talented group of athletes. Our best wishes to all of our seniors who begin their future careers in a couple short months. We’ll miss you all!

The Premier staff will be offering you a chance to gear up for your school season or tryouts. Sessions dates and times are posted below. This is a chance for you to get some great extra training and conditioning. Registration below.
2006 Premier Players and Non-Premier Players: Sessions will be offered to Premier Players and Non-Premier Players. Sessions will be ran by Trish Siedlik, Heidi Oetken and Amy McLeay. This is our way of saying thanks for a very successful season and good luck for your upcoming seasons. Please spread the word to your teammates! We are also opening dates for you to invite other players that may want to experience what Premier is like.
All sessions will be held at The Courts (8930 So. 137th Circle).
