Good luck to our Class of 2011 athletes as they begin their college careers in the Fall!!!! Several of our seniors have received and accepted offers to play at the collegiate level. We are very pleased with the performance of both Premier 18s teams this year and wish ALL of the seniors the best as they start college.

Premier Volleyball and the Special Olympics Nebraska are now in their fourth year together! Premier Volleyball began it's relationship with the Special Olympics in 2008 through the Premier Volleyball Golf Outing. Through our involvement with the Special Olympics we have been able to donate proceeds from the Premier Golf Outing as well as provide the SONE (Special Olympics Nebraska) athletes with officials and volunteers for their Summer Games. In 2010 Premier Volleyball hosted a Volleyball Clinic for the Special Olympics!

Congratulations to our 2010 Premier Volleyball Players’ Scholarship winners!
The Premier Volleyball Players’ Scholarship seeks to recognize its recently graduated high school seniors who continue to pursue their education. Applicants must demonstrate active participation in club activities, a willingness to excel in the classroom as well as on the court, leadership potential, and strong work ethics. This scholarship is sponsored by the families, coaches, and staff of Premier Volleyball. Funding for these scholarships is made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Premier Golf Classic Tournament Committee.
Andrea Johnson – Andrea is a 2010 graduate of Omaha Burke High School. She is attending Bellevue University. As a Premier player, Andrea learned a lot from her coaches including how to be a teammate and a good sport. “One of the most important lessons that I learned throughout my Premier career is to have respect for others. This includes my teammates, my coaches, my parents, and the opponent.”
Sierra Nighswonger – Sierra was a December graduate at Council Bluffs Abe Lincoln High School. In January, she began classes at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. Sierra’s advice to younger volleyball players is to “be a volleyball player, not a position.” She recommends taking advantage of every training session you can. “Even if you aren’t a setter, go to setter training, if you are a setter, go to hitting sessions. Everyone who wants to play in the front row should go to Middles training. And absolutely everyone on the team should go to the defensive training.”
Kim Rogers – Kim is also a 2010 graduate of Omaha Burke High School. She is attending Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. Kim says, “Premier really helped me gain confidence in myself and that was reflected in my playing. Without Premier, I would still be a shy 16 year-old alternate, asking if I had really played great, if I deserved to play, and wondering if I was good enough. Thanks to Premier and its coaching staff, I am proud, ready, and excited for my next step in volleyball. I am a great and confident player and don’t ever need to think otherwise again.”

All Premier Club members interested in being recruited for college volleyball are highly encouraged to attend. It's not too early to think about your college options - recommended for parents who's players are 14 & Up. This has been a successful seminar and answers many questions that may come up in your quest for a college scholarship. Since tournaments and qualifiers are coming up and many coaches will be watching, this is a great time to get educated!!

HOLE IN ONE - WIN A 2011 ACURA TSX 4 DR!!!
Brad Smith (Premier Parent), Acura of Omaha has offered a 2011 Acura TSX for a Hole in One Prize.
The 4th Annual Premier Volleyball Golf Outing & Social will be held at Tiburon Golf Club (10302 S. 168th Street) on Saturday, August 13th. Cost is $100 per golfer and includes welcome gifts, 18 holes of golf with cart, access to the range, flag prizes, refreshments, raffle items, social, silent auction and dinner .
The check-in time (and start of the silent auction) for the
four-person Texas scramble format will be 11:00 am - 12:30
p.m., with the shotgun start to sound at 1:00 pm. A social
and silent auction will be held following golf with dinner
scheduled to be served at approximately 6:00 p.m. Several
sponsorship levels are available (see attached brochure).
Social/dinner only tickets are available for $25 per person.

The Xplosive Edge has unveiled our summer programs for Premier Volleyball!!!
The Xplosive Edge is offering the below camps for all of Premier Volleyball with great discounts and special pricing. If you want to keep up with success and keep developing throughout the year please consider the below. You will get the same results in our summer camps as you do in the 6 months of training that we do up at the courts!!! Do not be the athlete that works so hard during the season and then loses all results and has to start over! We have programs below for the parents below. These programs all include more agility and speed and quickness work as well as nutritional consulting, pre and post performance drinks, and much much more!!!!!
The Developing Edge (8-13yr. Olds)
Designed for athletes ages 8-13, the Developing Edge introduces and teaches younger athletes proper running, jumping, and resistance training technique, as well as hand-eye coordination, acceleration, and deceleration. This is accomplished through a variety of speed and agility drills on the field, and strength and explosive movements in the weighted areas with very light and minimal amounts of weight.
With all emphasis on form and technique, and not focusing on heavy weights, the Xplosive Edge staff will help the developing athlete acquire proper neuromuscular recruitment patterns which will lead to an overall decrease in injury and improvement in performance.
Each Developing Edge camp is 4 weeks long. The campers come in and train 2x per week for 1 hour sessions. The summer training hours are Monday 10:30-11:30am & 6:30-7:30pm, Wednesday 5:30-6:30pm, Thursday 10:30-11:30am, and Friday 6:30-7:30pm. The athletes can select the 2 sessions during the week that work best. We also offer the Developing Edge in 6 and 12 month packages in which the price is significantly reduced and also pricing for athletes that want to continue training monthly up to next club volleyball season. Most of the kids that sign up and complete one 4 week camp love it and resign up for the monthly program. See the registration form attached or click on the link.

The Xplosive Edge (14-18yr. Olds)
Devised to maximize athletic performance, the Xplosive Edge camp is an intense 6-8 week camp for athletes ages 14-18. Each athlete will be pre and post tested electronically to see the gains that they made. A program derived from over 30 years of research and performance through the University of Nebraska’s Husker Power Program, the Xplosive Edge will make each athlete more powerful, more agile, stronger, and faster. Whether its a star striving for a college scholarship, an athlete looking to make the high school team, or anyone trying to improve performance, we WILL increase the athletic performance of each camper. The Xplosive Edge can also reduce the chances of the non-contact ACL tear by up to 88%! The Xplosive Edge camp consists of strength and Olympic style explosive lifts, speed and agility drills, and a complete sports nutrition profile with the athletes attending camp 4x per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
The camp includes pre and post body fat and lean muscle mass analysis, pre and post workout drinks on tap, strength and conditioning, biomechanical sports pre-movement screenings performed by Postural Restoration Certified Therapists, and a full nutritional fueling tactics program including diet plans and grocery shopping suggestions and tours.
The Xplosive Edge summer camp starts and runs June 6-July 29. This will be perfect for all of you looking to get the EDGE on the competition leading into tryouts and set yourselves apart from the rest of the athletes training at the high school. Camp is 4 days per week for 2 hrs each training session. There is a lot of speed and agility conditioning in this camp. We will decrease body fat by insane amounts! The camp is also offered 4x throughout the day. Camp runs M/T/TH/F and the times are 6-8am/8:30-10:30am/10:30-12:00pm/5:30-7:30pm. The Adult Edge Boot Camp
Hey all you parents. Are you looking to lose those unwanted inches around your waist and melt away the pounds this summer? If so, join the Xplosive Edge Adult Boot Camp program this summer. It is offered at 2 convenient times during the day, 3 days per week. This camp is like no other boot camp out there and the work outs are fun and new each time you come to the facility. Camp starts June 6th and runs through July 29th so get signed up today! This boot camp is 8 weeks of fat burning and muscle building fun. The camp is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with training times at 10:30-11:30am or 5:30-6:30pm. To all Premier families,
For all of you that know the Podraza family and those that don't, we are saddened to inform you that Jordyn Podraza (13 Gold), her little sister Taylor and their Dad, Jeff died in a car accident Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Podraza was not with them at the time.
Fr. Mike at St. Wenceslaus church had a rosary this evening (Sunday) at 7 PM so that we can gather as a community to pray together for the family. Teachers and counselors will be available at the school tomorrow (Monday) afternoon from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. St Wenc has placed three Christmas trees in front of the school doors as memorials for the father and girls. There will be small ornaments and pens available for people to write a prayer or message on and to hang on the trees. These ornaments will be given to Mrs. Podraza. The vigil service will be Tuesday from 5-7 with the wake service at 7 PM. The funeral will be on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Please keep this family in your prayers during this extremely difficult time.

The Courts, along with Premier Volleyball Club and River City Juniors hope you will join them in helping the 94.1 Diaper Drive, a benefit for The Lydia House.

The Xplosive Edge would like to offer 2 pre-tryout performance 100 and 101 camps to ANY volleyball player looking to increase their performance and get ready for tryouts. This camp is specifically for athletes that want to increase their vertical jump, power, and agility before tryouts so they can compete at a higher level of play. This camp will be run by the professional performance coaches of the Xplosive Edge and will be tailored to the needs and movements of competitive volleyball. All Training will be done at The Courts. See below for details and cost. All athletes will train 2x per week (1hr. Sessions) on either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday. It is imperative that each athlete receives 2 days of recovery in-between training sessions so they will need to stick to these two options.

Two new baby boys have joined to Premier Family recently!!!
Sarah Mancuso Skaggs (2010 14 Silver Asst. Coach) and Jake Skaggs welcomed their new baby boy to the world, October 1st! His name is Elijah (Eli) Michael. He arrived weighing 8 lbs, 2 oz. Along with welcoming the baby on October 1st, Woodhouse Ford called the Skaggs to let them know they had WON THE CAR as well!!! Thanks to all who voted!! Congratulations Sarah and Jake! |

Announcing . . . . . The Premier Volleyball Players’ Scholarship
The Premier Volleyball Players’ Scholarship seeks to recognize its recently graduated high school seniors who continue to pursue their education. Applicants must demonstrate active participation in club activities, a willingness to excel in the classroom as well as on the court, leadership potential, and strong work ethics. This scholarship is sponsored by the families, coaches, and staff of Premier Volleyball. Funding for these scholarships is made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Premier Golf Classic Tournament Committee.
Scholarship amounts vary. Application deadline is August 31, 2010. For more information or to apply, please download the Premier Volleyball Players’ Scholarship application.

We are offering modified open gym sessions for ages 11U through
14U!
This open gym is available to any 11U-14U in the area.
There will be 1/2 hour to work on personal skills and
then 1 hour of team/game play with coach assistance.
The focus of these sessions will be to offer "game like" play for those athletes that are not able to participate in a fall league or simply just want more playing time on the court!! The goal will be to bring those skills that you work on at Special Sessions Clinics and bring them to life in a game like situation.

For the first time ever, Xedge is going to run a pre high school performance conditioning camp for all athletes entering high school volleyball tryouts. This camp is strictly for athletes entering high school. The goal of this camp is to prepare and condition athletes for tryouts.

$195 Performance 101 (athletes entering H.S.) Monday July 26 – Friday Aug. 13
All training will be held at the Omaha Sports Complex located on 147th and Giles. Training will be 4x per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:30-12:00pm or 5:30-7:00pm.

Cost is $100 per golfer and includes welcome gifts, 18 holes of golf with cart, access to the range, flag prizes, refreshments, raffle items, social, silent auction and dinner .
The check-in time (and start of the silent auction) for the
four-person Texas scramble format will be 11:00 am - 12:30
p.m., with the shotgun start to sound at 1:00 pm. A social
and silent auction will be held following golf with dinner
scheduled to be served at approximately 6:00 p.m. Several
sponsorship levels are available (see attached brochure).
Social/dinner only tickets are available for $25 per person.

XPLOSIVE EDGE SUMMER CAMPS STARTING SOON. SIGN UP TODAY!!!
The Xplosive Edge summer camp will be starting soon, running from June 7th-July 31st. This will be perfect for all of you volleyball players looking to get the EDGE on the competition leading into tryouts and set yourselves apart from the rest of the athletes training at the high school. Camp is 4 days per week for 2 hrs each training session. There is a lot of speed and agility conditioning in this camp. We will decrease body fat by insane amounts! The camp is also offered 4x throughout the day. Camp runs M/T/TH/F and the times are 6am/8:30am/10:30am/5:30pm. We offer these times to accommodate all of our athletes who are busy during the summer! The camp includes pre and post electronic testing as well as body fat and lean muscle mass analysis, pre and post workout drinks on tap, strength and conditioning, biomechanical evaluations sports screening by the Rejuvenation Center, and a full nutritional fueling tactics program including grocery shopping charts. This camp is also fun because you will get to train side by side with athletes of the same skill level and even several college and professional athletes from the NHL and the NFL!!!
